Ours is a lively group that meets monthly except for August.

We read modern novels, not classics, usually selected from prize-winnng fiction or on an agreed theme.

Books are obtained from the library, not bought. Each month one member introduces the novel with a short critique, together with information about the author. The other members then express their opinions before we open up the meeting for a more general discussion, always lively and diverse.

In June we each suggest titles of novels that we would like to read in the coming year and, in July , "ballot" to decide which book will be presented by which person in which month.
